How to prepare lecture slides for Notion notes

Lecture slides are useful during class, but they often become difficult to review later. If your notes are in a separate document, you need to remember which slide they belong to. A workbook structure solves that by placing each slide and its notes together.

Convert before class when possible

If the instructor shares slides before class, convert them into a Notion workbook before the lecture starts. This gives you a ready-made note space under every slide, so you are not formatting pages while trying to listen.

Even a rough workbook is enough. You can rename sections or reorganize later, but having slide-by-slide note space ready changes how quickly you can capture explanations.

Use short notes during class

During the lecture, avoid writing full paragraphs under every slide. Instead, capture the one sentence that makes the slide make sense: the instructor's explanation, an example, or a warning about a common mistake.

After class, expand only the slides that were confusing. This keeps the workbook usable instead of turning it into another long transcript.

Review by page, not by file

When exam week arrives, the workbook lets you scan slide images and your notes in one place. Add checkboxes, callouts, or small summaries under the pages that need another pass.

This creates a practical review loop: page image, your explanation, question, and follow-up note. The source material stays visible the whole time.
